Faculty, Research Associate and Post-Doc Positions in School of Physical Science and Technology (SPST), Shanghaitech University
School of Physical Science and Technology (SPST) has successfully recruited high caliber tenure-track faculties, graduate and undergraduate students, and is expected to have about 150 regular tenured and tenure-track faculty, 1,200 graduate and 750 undergraduate students. We are currently seeking applicants for multiple tenure-track and tenured, research associate, and post-doctoral positions at all ranks.
Requirement
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Physical Science and Engineering. They will be expected to establish an independent research program. The senior position applicants are expected to be leading scientists in his/her research disciplinary.
Research topics
We focus on the study of topology insulators, superconductors, and low-dimensional electronic materials and devices. Specific topics include
- Low temperature characterization, e.g. scanning tunneling microscope (STM), Angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), transport, spectrum, atomic force microscope (AFM).
- Micro- and nano-fabrication, e.g. optical lithography, electron beam lithography, focused ion beam (FIB), Ion-Beam Etching (IBE), and Reactive-Ion Etching (RIE).
- Film fabrication, e.g. Magnetron Sputtering Deposition, Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE), Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD), Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Electron-Beam Deposition (EBD), and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD).
- Theoretical calculation in topology insulator, superconductor, or quantum physics.
Salary and benefits
Faculty position: University will provide initial start-up fund and research lab space matching the research needs. Starting salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health and retirement benefits as well as on campus housing renting at a reduced rate.
Research Associate and Post-Doc position: Starting salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The distinguished or senior researchers will be provided a special salary up to RMB320K/year. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health and retirement benefits.
